I love a nicely-done, functionally-stanced car...

...But this crosses a line. Not for the camber in and of itself, but the fact that he's converting a perfectly good Legacy GT sedan to FWD so that he can add more camber. What? [ !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ]

This is why we can't have nice things.

Bad.

As a Legacy GT owner... this car is getting decimated.

I replaced multiple wheel bearings that failed on mine, and almost all the bushings went out, as well as being on the third set of dampers... with just a modest street-able lowering spring set, and 18x8 wheels.

This car's suspension is getting torn to pieces like that.

Converting to FWD is absolute frakking SACRILEGE!!!

Buy a FWD CAR. A Jetta or a Camry or something... Ruin one of those, and see if anyone cares. Not a rare Legacy GT.

No, the camber is awful. The only reason to have that much camber is so you can go lower without rubbing. It's idiotic.

agreed. If anything, you can improve those cars since they're boring and everywhere and dirt cheap so at worst, you've created a bit of drama with them. In the words of Roadkill "If your car can't be used to strike up a conversation with your fellow man at the gas station, what are you doing with your life?" Maybe some like it, maybe some don't, but tuning an old crapcan correctly at least gives it character it was msising.

This is the opposite - you are removing character it already had to replace it with much less character. I've seen dozens of subarus that look like that. And that one isn't even a very good example. So he ruined his car for the sake of image and he'll hate driving it within a month. That's why so many of those cars change every other month, their owners can;t stand driving them.

I think I lost IQ points reading that page..."Love it. I wish it was a RWD conversion cuz I like drifting and whatnot. But, the amount of tits your car will carry beyond it's current titness is mindblowing."

Yup. And as someone who has driven and searched for many LGTs in the past two years, why not just use a normal Legacy? And the thing that baffles me is the (bizarrely high quality) built motor. It's not like that power can ever get to the ground with the wheels riding on their corners.

Technically, yes they do. Because this is a vehicle with a modified stance:

Kinja'd!!!

As is this:

As is this:

Kinja'd!!!

I've driven the last car, and it remains the best-driving vehicle I've ever driven - and that includes CTS-Vs, S4s, M3s, and the like. I like my E24 quite a bit, but that's a grand tourer, and serves a very different purpose. This LGT was the best set up car I've driven with regard to the engine and suspension setups, but a lot of thought went into it to turn it into that car (and the owner did all the work himself).

So "stanced" (meaning a car with an altered stance) doesn't necessarily connect it with the monstrosity above.

Well, he will be the only person in the world with a fwd legacy. maybe.

And hey, unless you give him some funding, you cant complain. Its his money, his problems.

You guys worry about stance too much. These guys arent the people we need to worry about. They, in a strange unusual way, love their cars as much as we do. Its the hybrid-autoonly-nonturbo-nondiesel-fwd-beige army we need to worry about.

I suppose i fight a losing battle.

What a bunch of fucking tools.

And what good does it do to spend all that money on such extensive engine upgrades when that poor overcambered FWD subaru can't even put down the power properly?

I guess that might have been unclear. A nicely done, functionally-stanced LGT is this:

The over-cambered monstrosity above is not acceptable.

Every now and then I have to remind myself of this. The slow and low crowd isn't really "the enemy." It's the ones who are vehemently anti-fun, NIMBY about venues for fun, and all-around bad juju who are.

I don't like the cars, but I don't own them. I'm sure my vehicular preferences get plenty-o-hate, anyway. On top of that, I'm a big proponent of "do what makes you happy."

If this is what gets people interested in cars, sweet. Wait'll they drive one that works properly.

This FWD conversion makes me cringe a bit because Legacies should be jumping stuff and doing hoon things, man. My friend's FWD conversion to jump into a different rallycross class didn't bother me as much because that's a thing that I do. Stance isn't a thing that I get into, so I just need to remember: breathe. I don't get it. But it's not my car.

I can't understand the built motor and all the other goodies as he can't ever make use of them. I would like to see the upcoming thread where he has killed more rear bearings and blown up the trans with all that torque going to the front wheels
